The Barnes family began farming peanuts in 1917. Then in 1946, our sister company, Severn Peanut Company started shelling peanuts. In 1989, Hampton Farms was founded to complete the circle of our service. This enabled us to have complete control of the peanuts from the farm to our retail customer. Hampton Farms goal was, and remains, to be the best roaster of peanut products in the world. We have three roasting facilities in which we dry roast In-Shell-Peanuts. Our main roasting facility is located in Severn, North Carolina in the heart of what is known as the V/C (Virginia-Carolina) Peanut Belt. We also have a facility in Portales, New Mexico, the primary growing region for Valencia peanuts. Our third facility is located in Springfield, Massachusetts where we service the northeast United States and Eastern Canada.
