The creation of the Wyoming Business Council in 1998 dramatically changed Wyoming's approach to economic development. Unlike the state's previous economic development efforts, this new organization has more of a corporate structure, incorporates private business practices in order to drive programs and has instituted regional offices throughout the state. the Business Council has divisions dedicated to: Agribusiness,Business and Industry, Investment Ready Communities, Support Services, Travel and Tourism.
